The new moon arrives, and as a lunar new year commences, we strive to sprint through the threshold that the imminent waxing-crescent provides. But there's a grounding quality in Winter, and aspirations aren't as quick to manifest in this slow and earthbound season, as they tend to be when the energy is skyward and the pace has quickened in the warmer months. I consider the weeks between the Winter Solstice and the lunar new year a quintessentially liminal timeframe- a reconciliation between the cyclical path of the moon and that of the sun, where recalibration and reflection are the instinctual actions of us embodied spirits. The long nights provide perfect conditions to both work steadily, if not slowly, behind the scenes during these truncated days, attempting to get one's ducks in a row for the lunar and solar cycles ahead, and to recapitulate the previous year, allowing the data accrued to sink in and help direct the intentions and planning for the moonths ahead....
... Afoot there is much, here on the immortal mountainside. We are moments away from announcing our calendar of workshops and our revamped web-shop here on this very digital platform. We have many in-person, chocolate-oriented events in the works, as well as some exciting collaborations, new artwork, product innovations, tree plantings and landscape regenerative projects on the horizon, which will all be covered here in our virtual Realm. But to conclude this short post, I'll indulge an inclination to look back at a year now laid to rest, and post a few snapshots that take us back to some of those enchanted and sometimes hard-won moments. Cheers! to new horizons (and to our homesteads' resolution, a 2020 manifestation of beer, bread and bees), and Yahey! to all those close companions who've passed through our lives, generously left their lessons and love here for us to carry forth, before crossing over into the next beautiful phase of their journeys...
